The best time to visit Sylt
Sylt has no bad season – only different ones. Which month suits you depends on whether you want to swim, cycle, work or simply breathe. Here is an honest assessment from a Wenningstedt point of view.

- Beach holiday: mid-June to early September.
- Best value for money: September and October, plus May/June.
- Quiet, sauna and workation: November to mid-December and January to March.
- Most expensive and busiest: summer holidays, Whitsun and New Year; Christmas 2027 is shoulder season.

Seasons and rates at Horsa Hüs
Our season calendar follows exactly this rhythm. For 2026 the nightly rate is €290 in the low season, €390 in the mid season and €595 in the high season; from the 2027 travel year it is €300, €435 and €650. Whitsun (12–19 May) and New Year (28 December–9 January 2028) cost €650 per night; Christmas (21–27 December) costs €435 per night.

Off season: the underrated favourite
Between November and March, Sylt is at its most honest: empty beaches, clear air, short distances. If you have a sauna, an evening by the fire and a house with space, you do not need summer weather. That is exactly what makes a workation on Sylt work – longer stays are notably cheaper at this time of year.
When should you book?
- Summer holidays, Easter, Whitsun, Christmas: 9–12 months in advance.
- May, June, September: 4–6 months in advance.
- Low season: often still available a few weeks ahead.
